4 mm C-Clip (Retaining Ring)

Carbon steel elastic retaining ring used to secure pins, shafts, and small components on a variety of espresso machine and grinder assemblies. The 4 mm size refers to the widest point of the clip's opening, measured at the center.

INSTALLATION

Simple DIY replacement, but use the correct tool for the job.

PRO TIPS

• Use external snap-ring (circlip) pliers rather than flat-blade pliers or a screwdriver, over-flexing the clip by hand tools not made for the job can distort its temper, and a distorted clip can pop out of its groove in service.
• Always replace the clip rather than reusing one you've removed; even a small amount of spring-back loss can let it work loose over time.
